The 2018/19 EMP Annual General Meeting was held today with several changes at Committee level.
After three seasons in the role, Emily McIntyre has stepped down as President, handing the reigns to former 2nd XI Captain Leah Caluzzi.
The 2019/10 Premiership Captain steps into the role with a wealth of operational experience. Currently the TPP Compliance and Academy Operations Manager at North Melbourne Football Club and Secretary of Melbourne Uni Women’s Football Club, Leah also Chaired the recently formed EMP Futures Sub-Committee, charged with establishing recommendations on the next phase of the club’s future. A Bomber since 2003/04 and having held numerous Committee roles across a seven year period during that time, Leah’s passion for the club is evident.
“I’m honoured to be taking on this role and to have the opportunity to give something back to a wonderful club that I have called home for over 15 years.
“Em has done an amazing job over the last three years and I look forward to serving the club in the same progressive and passionate way she has.” Leah said.
Emily steps into the role of Vice President in order to assist with the transition. Her tenure as President has seen a number of initiatives established such as the current strategic plan, the current upgrade of the Aberfeldie Park playing surface, as well as the establishment of the Futures Sub-Committee. Not only President since 2016/17, Emily also held General Committee roles for six years from 2008/09 – 2013/14.
Commenting on the change, Emily said “I’d like to thank the Bomber family for their support over my time as President of the best club in the world!
“I’m so excited to hand the reigns over to such a passionate EMP person to take the club on to bigger and better things.”
Further changes to the Committee will see current players Mikayla Haddow and Chloe Rafferty as well as former Assistant Coach Rob Ward step on.
Stepping down from the Committee will be Briana Binch, Natalie Schilov and Pat Rafferty. We thank all three for their commitment and contribution during their time on the Committee.
