Essendon Maribyrnong Park (EMP) is committed to providing girls with a pathway from schoolyard to Southern Stars A number of opportunities are available for juniors at EMP.



                    

EMP Spitfires Junior Development Squad (12-17 year olds)

During the 2013/14 season, EMP will be running a junior development squad aimed at 12-17 year olds.  The squad will come together four times a year for specialist training from EMP players/coaches and is open to girls from beginner to advanced.

In2CRICKET (5-8 year olds)

The MILO in2CRICKET program is designed to teach children aged between five and eight the basic skills of cricket whilst being involved in an environment that is fun, safe, healthy and most importantly, one which fosters the development of social skills and friendships. EMP will be running an in2CRICKET program in 2013/14.

Coaching for junior clubs and schools

EMP is available to provide coaching assistance for junior clubs and schools in the West Metro and Western Country regions of Victoria.

EMP 3rd XI

 

EMP 3rd XI (all ages and abilities)

The EMP 3rd XI currently particpates in the Victorian Women's Cricket Association's One Day North West compettion, a level of competition catering for all ages and abilities. Many EMP junior girls have started in the EMP 3rd XI with great success.  

The team's purpose is to provide a fun environment for young players whilst teaching them the skills of the game under the guidance of experienced players.  The competition plays a mix of 40 over one day matches and Twenty20 matches.

Regional Alignments

EMP is aligned to the following Cricket Victoria pathway regions:

Region 9 - West Metro (Western Spirit)
Region 2 - Western Country (Western Waves)

The pathway regions provide representative opportunities for girls at U14, U16 and U18 level.  EMP is actively involved in supporting these teams with many players in these regions going on to represent EMP at senior level.
